Groundswell Educational Films (Groundswell) creates social change by creating top quality documentary films with coordinated public engagement strategies that move audiences to action. Groundswell is seeking a Director of Development and Management to support the organization’s creative work and build its capacity to fulfill its mission.

Position Title: Director of Development and Management

ReportsTo: Chief Executive Officer

Basic Functions: Under the general direction of the founders, fulfill priorities (fundraising for operating and programming) and manage office for Groundswell Educational Films.

Duties & Responsibilities:

§ Help raise money for a) operating and b) programs, including writing funding proposals and securing sponsorships for events

§ Manage office including volunteers and collaborations

§ Build relationships through affinities with other organizations

§ Plan and manage public and private events and programs

§ Audience development and marketing

§ Communication with stakeholders

§ reach out to media

§ Manage accounts payable/receivable, contracts for tours, quickbooks,

§ Update website

§ Administrative support for Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer

§ Other duties as directed by Chief Executive Officer

 

Salary: Commensurate with experience

Classification: X Exempt Non-Exempt


Qualifications and Application Requirements

Skills & Qualifications: 

The right candidate will have a track record in securing sponsorships and fundraising and be a strong writer with excellent people and networking skills. Candidates will be competent to manage office, to follow up fundraising leads and develop database. Compelling personal experience or evidence of commitment to promoting social change is a key to the right fit. Researching Groundswell's programs and responding creatively to this opportunity will demonstrate a very important qualification.

§ Must have BA, MA degree preferred

§ Experience in fundraising; event planning; sponsorships

§ a detail-oriented office manager who is a persuasive writer, communicator

§ Computer, web, and new media experience

§ Able to work independently and travel to engagements as needed

§ Comfortable working across cultures and socio-economic strata
