Terrarium Making Instructor

Color Cocktail is hiring! We host 2-2.5 hour nightly events during which patrons will receive step-by-step instruction on a featured project of the night while socializing in a laid back social setting. Check us out at www.colorcocktailfactory.com

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR:

We are looking for great artists to work in our Pilsen studio. We are located right Cermak Rd. between Halsted and Canal. Weekend availability is key; we're looking for someone who can work a few weekdays but also Fri/Sat/Sun (either all of that or some combination of those days). We don't have a lot of demand weekdays during the day, so it's ok if you have a more standard job during normal "business hours."

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities will vary depending on whether you are the "Assistant" or the "Lead Instructor" for the session.

When you are the instructor, you will be the primary person teaching the class how to make terrariums. The time commitment for each session is between 3.0and 4.0 hours. Most of our sessions are at nights/weekends, so this is ok as a second income or if you are a grad student. We also have some day sessions (nearly always on Saturday/Sunday and some on weekdays like work events).

COMPENSATION:

When teaching, you will be paid $125 per session. When assisting, you'll be paid $80.

Qualifications (most of the following): * Over 21 years old* Outgoing, personable, & fun * BFA or some formal training in the arts (ok if you're a current student or recent grad)* Experience teaching (especially to groups, but 1-on-1 instruction also good)* Ability to be reliable and timely* Laid back personality; likes to laugh and have fun (our team is young, fun, and energetic . . . we work hard, but we do it while telling jokes and having a great time!)
