Summer Camp Art Teaching Assistant

Dates: Monday, June 30 through Friday, August 3 & Monday, August 6 through Friday, August 10

Times: 8:30am to 12:30 pm and/or 12:30pm to 3:30pm

Summer Teaching Assistant Job Description:

The Teaching Assistant will greet students and take attendance; notify the Program Director of children who are absent (or in her absence, phone the office and parents to verify children who are absent); help to organize and distribute supplies for certain projects; work with the Program Director to facilitate a variety of art activities; demonstrate techniques; teach skills; facilitate clean-up; prepare tables for snack; supervise the clean-up of snack, restroom use, and the movement of children from the classroom to outdoor play; supervise children during outdoor play and indoor free play (during inclement weather); escort children to parents at child pick-up; and be willing to assist in other capacities that will facilitate the safe and efficient delivery of the program.

3. Candidates must be willing to submit to a background check

Beye Discovery is a program of the Beye PTO that offers children opportunities for growth and exploration through creative project-based learning in art.


Skills & Qualifications: 

1. Excellent rapport with children (enthusiastic, patient, nurturing, attentive) 
2. Strong work ethic (punctual, dedicated, engaged, focused) 
3. Successful completion of 2 years college coursework in visual art and/or science, or can demonstrate ability in one or more of these areas 
4. Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to work as part of a team

5. Ability to climb 3 flights of stairs, with frequency, during child pick-up
