Dream Big Performing Arts Workshop

The mission of Dream Big Performing Arts Workshop is to enrich children’s lives with life-affirming and energizing, creative experiences in the performing arts. With a focus on fostering confidence and the freedom of self-expression, these collaborative experiences, led by professional teaching artists, allow children’s hearts and spirits to shine bright on and off the stage.

For the past 12 years, Dream Big has provided thousands of workshop-based enrichment programs in and out of schools throughout the Chicagoland area. Throughout the school year, we customize and create collaborative residencies in partnership with principals and classroom teachers that integrate drama into standardized curriculum in an effort to enhance student learning, as well as theater-related electives and specials, and tuition-based before school, lunchtime and after school programs. Throughout the summer, we offer weekly themed drama camps, partner with day camps to offer residency-based theater specialties, and produce one large-scale professional production experience on stage at the Athenaeum Theatre, an historic 900+ seat main stage theatre in Lakeview.

In addition to being experienced educators, our compassionate team of teaching artists and administrative staff is comprised of talented field professionals embedded in all aspects of the theater arts community. Each member of our team strongly believes in the power of the performing arts in a child’s life and the impact it has on their social-emotional health and well-being.
