Program Manager for After School Programs and Community Events

We are looking to fill the Changing Worlds Program Manager position within the next 45 days!  This is a highly interactive position working with teaching artists of all disciplines and creating relationships with the program managers of after school programs in the Chicago Public Schools.  You will work along side a dynamic and diverse team of co-workers who are very collaborative and cooperative in spirit and are committed to bringing the best arts education programming to all parts of Chicago!

Our ideal candidate is someone who loves the arts and artists , has had personal experience working with youth in and out of school situations,  is interested in developing professional skills as a manager of people and programs and is excited about  the creativity of convening a like-minded groups of people together to create engaging and high quality programs for young people ages 8- 18. 

Changing Worlds is a not-for-profit multi-disciplinary program that fosters inclusive communities through oral history, writing and the arts to affirm participants personal identity and culture, advance arts learning and arts integrated learning experiences , to  enchance peer-to-peer empathy and interpersonal connections.

Requirements
Skills & Qualifications: 

Ideal candidates will have the following assets to share:

- Understanding of the value of the arts in the development of every child

- Understanding of how to advance high quality arts programming for students in an after school setting

- Have 3-5 years experience in school or community settings

- Experienced in creating and managing programs from the plan to the implementation

- Personable and timely in response to the needs of our consultants, our school partners and our prospective partners 

- Have good time management skills and able to meet deadlines

We welcome applicants from all arts and education sectors. Knowledge of Spanish is a plus but not required.
