One River School of Art Lincoln Square

One River School of Art + Design is seeking creative interns for our exhibition, business and education programs.

At One River School, we have developed a system that blends a fun interactive social dynamic, with an innovative method that focuses on contemporary art education. Our internship program is designed for current students and recent graduates with the opportunity to acquire skills for a career in the arts or education. Training and guidance will be provided by One River's management and education team. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in contemporary art and progressive art education and be highly motivated to work in a fast paced and entrepreneurial environment.

Priority is based on candidates who can commit at least two days per week or (15 hours) for a three-month program. Internships are eligible for school credit and are non-paid programs.

MARKETING 

Help shape One River's brand image. Participate in in a variety of marketing projects and campaigns:

  • Execute social media strategy for One River School
  • Drive school enrollment
  • Plan site-specific performances and fundraising events at One River
  • Conduct research on media outlets and potential sponsors
  • Help manage correspondence with corporate sponsors and local schools, businesses, and cultural organizations
  • Assist in the design and publication of online and print press materials

Candidates must know the basics of MS Office Suite and Adobe Photoshop, social media, and strong writing skills are strongly desired.

 

EXHIBITIONS

Dive into every aspect of exhibition programming. Work alongside our school staff to execute on the following:

  • Drive awareness for One River's exhibition programs in the local community with fellow
  • art associations, artists, galleries and curators
  • Help plan, promote and execute events celebrating One River's exhibitions including artist
  • talks, family events and local community events
  • Assist in the research and pre-exhibition planning for new and upcoming exhibitions
  • Develop and distribute exhibition collaterals

Candidates must have a professional and personable phone manner, as well as basic understanding of MS Office and Photoshop. A passion for contemporary art and eagerness to become involved in the contemporary art world is required.

 

EDUCATION

Support teachers of students ranging from pre-K through 7th grade in developing and executing educational curricula:

  • Provide support to teachers, including classroom set-up and break-down
  • Help maintain system for keeping track of students' achievements and progress
  • Provide in classroom assistance to students
  • Develop supporting materials for One River School's lesson plans including videos, PowerPoints, assessments and teacher tools

 

Successful candidates will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as a passion for art and art education. Prior classroom experience is strongly preferred.
