Music Publishing Editor + Gallery Assistant

Position Overview:  

LVL3 seeks hands-on help in a creative, fast-paced, independent learning environment. Under direct supervision of the Director and Gallery Manager, the Applicant will carry out day-to-day tasks to support the operations of LVL3. You will gain direct experience in researching a range of art, communities and culture, as well as gallery installation, interview tactics, publishing, gallery and exhibition maintenance, and management along with extensive email communication.


Duration of Position:

Applicants should be able to commit to work for a minimum of 6 consecutive months

(Start and end dates are flexible and can be negotiated)

Applicants are expected to work 5-12 hours per week and must be timely with responses to email correspondence and website maintenance requests. Regular gallery hours include open hours every Sunday from 1-4pm CST and opening receptions which take place approximately every 6 weeks.

Applicants are expected to promptly reply to emails and task requests. Lateness without valid communication will not be tolerated. If the Applicant fails to respond and/or follow through with responsibilities more than three times without prior notification, he/she will be reviewed for dismissal. The Applicant must notify the Director via email no later than two weeks in advance for any days they will be unavailable for communication/assigned duties.


Regular Duties/Requirements:

-Professional + personalized weekly email correspondence

-Proofreading and drafting weekly interviews to be approved

-Maintain LVL3 website and galley posts

-Weekly research of art, design, music, fashion, and culture to be cataloged in Google spreadsheet

-Weekly gallery hours and maintenance

-Update and maintain social media platforms

-Keen awareness of the gallery’s programming and scheduled program artist

-Attend a minimum of one gallery opening, show, or art related event per week

-Proficient in Photography + DSL usage


Applicants with specific interest/knowledge in music or design will be given priority consideration. Applicants are required to have access to a laptop computer and must have regular Internet access and maintain an active email account along with a smartphone.

*No gallery experience is required. All individuals with interest in the arts/music/design/creative communities are encouraged to apply.


Once hired, all accepted applicants will participate in a 30-day trial period. After 30 days, the performance and attitude of each Applicant will be assessed in order to insure a proper fit.


Skills & Qualifications: 


-Qualifying candidates will be pursuing college degree or equivalent in a creative field

-Excellent communication and organizational skills

-Strong written and verbal skills

-Ability to complete projects independently with attention to detail

-Ability to meticulously proofread and edit materials for publishing and email

-Organized and punctual

-Flexible schedule and access to consistent mobile email

-Applicants must be well versed, aware, and have respectable taste in current music, arts, fashion, and/or design

-Must live within a 30 minute commute of LVL3 (preferably off the blue line).

-Experience with creative writing, graphic design, photography, social media publishing is not required but is a definite plus.
