Lyric Opera of Chicago | Digital Marketing Intern

Although internships are unpaid, a $30 weekly travel stipend is offered; other benefits include mentoring, complimentary tickets and ability to attend dress rehearsals, backstage tours, and networking events.  

General Description Summary:

  • Assist in ensuring that pages on the company website are updated and accurate
  • Assist in the creation and execution of email marketing campaigns
  • Conduct best practice research to identify opportunities for email marketing campaigns
  • Identify, initiate, and execute promotional opportunities
  • Work with Digital team to optimize SEO on website
  • Assist other members of the marketing team as assigned

Hours: 14-20 hours/week (max 20 hours/week unless approved); approx. January 15-May 15

Skills & Qualifications: 

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Pursuing undergraduate studies in marketing, web development, IT, or related field

Required Skills:

  • Computer literacy is required, with an emphasis in HTML, CMS, SEO, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Google Drive
  • Knowledge of Tessitura or other CRM, Mail2 or other email platform, and Bootstrap is preferred
  • Must be a self-starter, detail oriented, have excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Interest in opera or the arts
