Gallery Assistant Intern

LWP is seeking a motivated and dedicated gallery assistant intern. The candidate must be able to work efficiently in a fast-face environment with a small group of dedicated professionals. Organization and attention to detail are important. A professional demeanor, strong communication skills, and writing skills are crucial. Prior art gallery, museum, or art non-profit experience preferred. The position requires the ability to multitask and effectively complete tasks ranging from administrative to research-based. The intern will work closely with the principal, director, and gallery staff to both gather and disseminate information accordingly.
 
Duties include but not limited to:
File, answer phones, orders staff lunch, and general administrative tasks.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • BA in Art History, Museum Studies, or closely related field.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as an independent self-starter, yet be part of the team
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends, as needed
  • Demonstrated knowledge of social media
  • The position is unpaid and part time; Tuesday through Thursday, with flexibility to accommodate for opening receptions and other events as needed.
