Choreographer/Dance Teaching Artist for The Lion King Jr. | The Stage School

The Stage School is currently seeking a qualified Dance instructor for our upcoming Winter/Spring term.  The instructor will teach dance to children ages 4-16 and serve as the choreographer for our Spring production of Disney’s The Lion King Jr. 

At The Stage School, all students study drama, singing, and dance.  We primarily focus on jazz and modern dance techniques, with an overall emphasis on musical theater. 

Students perform for family and friends at the end of each term.  Our dance teacher will be responsible for choreographing our end of term presentation (Disney's The Lion King Jr.) and preparing students for performance, as well as teaching fundamental skills to beginning and intermediate level dancers throughout the term.

The Stage School meets every Saturday in Park Ridge.  The Winter/Spring session begins January 20th and runs through May 12th.  Class times are from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM.  

Compensation for this position is $35 per hour of teaching time.

Ideal teaching candidates will  

·         be motivated, energetic, and organized

·         have a strong professional background in dance and musical theater.

·         have experience teaching children ages 4-16

·         have experience in rehearsing and directing performances

·         have a passion for teaching life skills to young people through the performing arts.
