POSITION: Associate Director, Planned Giving and Major Gifts
REPORTS TO: Director of Major Gifts
The Associate Director of Planned Giving is responsible for identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of planned giving donors and prospects.This newly created position, will manage strategic planning, solicitation process, direct communications, and stewardship activities to retain and acquire donors for planned giving campaigns. Collaborate with Development team for support of special campaigns.
Responsibilities include but aren’t limited to; develop and manage a relationship portfolio of prospects with ability to provide planned gifts to Joffrey Ballet, direct the strategic identification, cultivation, and solicitation of donor prospects, and implement effective fundraising strategies for increased giving, participate with the development staff to integrate major donor development campaign in all fundraising activities, maintain systematic approach to stewardship contacts with donors, cultivate relationships with various estate planning professionals regarding gift opportunities for clients, manage the recognition process for those who provided for Joffrey Ballet in their estate or other financial plans, oversee the management of Joffrey Ballet’s relationship with estates where the Joffrey is named as a beneficiary, prepare written proposals, informational materials, endowment agreements and other materials needed to secure major gifts and planned gifts and record and track all portfolio donor and prospect management cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities within Tessitura.
Undergraduate degree preferred. 3+ years of experience working with high-net-worth individual donors, with demonstrated ability to understand the needs and interests of leadership and major gift donors in order to develop relationships between them and the Joffrey. Interest in dance, dance education and outreach, and in building donor relationships in support of the Joffrey’s mission is highly desirable. Tessitura experience preferred. Demonstrated leadership and the ability to successfully manage multi-functional or diverse areas. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated record of completing assignments. Must have a solid commitment towards diversity, inclusion, and equity.
Monday through Friday, 8:30am-5pm, additional hours as required, including regular attendance at evening and weekend performances and events.
