LinkUp Residency Artists' Spring 2010 Showcase: Rehearsals for Becoming Gods

Presented as part of Links Hall's 2009-2010 residency season, Rehearsals for Becoming Gods is an earnest and lumbering, darkly funny and fleetingly magical exploration of the incessant efforts of human beings to manage their bodies – whether toward basic functioning, athletic prowess or otherworldly transcendence.  How is a perspective on the body as “other” linked to violence, agency and spiritual devotion?  This question frames the activity of dancers Ginger Krebs, Andy Braddock, José Hernandez, Carole McCurdy and Adam Rose as they “attempt flight,” despite restrictions imposed by a series of objects and circumstances.  Original, live sound by Rustél Weiss.
