Assistant Director of Cooperative Education

THE ART INSTITUTE OF CHICAGO is seeking a candidate who will be responsible for counseling, resume building, portfolio consultation, editing artist statements and cover letters. Conducts orientations for potential Co-op students. Represent Co-op at IDO days (Admissions Event). Develop Co-op jobs locally, nationally and internationally. Present at national conferences with Director and attend local chapter CEA meetings. Advise student groups. Train and supervise staff on office procedures, computer functions and statistical reporting. Assists with programming and attend student and faculty seminars.

Qualifications and Application Requirements

Skills & Qualifications: 

A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE a Bachelors degree with 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in higher education, Cooperative Education program and/or arts organizations is required. Demonstrated knowledge of the visual arts required. Proven ability to work with students, employers, faculty, staff and alumni. Working knowledge of PeopleSoft plus, along with excellent time management skills, attention to detail and initiative.
