Dance Chicago 2008

An unprecedented array of international dance performances will take place when dancers and choreographers from the Moscow Ballet, South Korea’s Kim Geung Soo Ballet Company, and Istanbul Contemporary Performance join such renowned American companies as LehrerDance New York and the Houston Metropolitain Dance Company as well as local favorites including Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago, dancers of the Joffrey Ballet, Concert Dance, Inc. and the World Champion Trinity Irish Dancers during Dance Chicago 2008.

Celebrating its 14th season, Chicago’s highly acclaimed entertainment extravaganza runs November 7th through November 30th at the Athenaeum Theatre.

Featuring the best in urban, ballet, tap, Latin, jazz and contemporary dance, Dance Chicago 2008 will showcase more than 3,000 performers from some of the best dance companies worldwide.   The 2008 festival will be highlighted by 12 unique programs, five of which are new to Dance Chicago.

Dance Chicago 2008 is a four-week festival featuring the largest and most diverse variety of Chicago’s local dance companies. Dance Chicago features hundreds of companies and choreographers in 12 different programs. The cornerstone of the fall dance season for more than a decade, the four-week festival brings the talents of Chicago's foremost dancers and newest talents together for 21 performances during the annual month-long celebration.  The festival features audience favorites such as Opening Weekend, Grand Finale, Dance for Kids, and new shows: Dance Romance, Chicago Streets, and Jazz Cabaret.
