REDMOON BUILD SHOP INTERNSHIP
Fall Session
9/4/08 - 12/13/08
POSITION OVERVIEW
Redmoon creates theatrical spectacles that transform streets, stages, and architectural landmarks into places of public celebration utilizing an original language capable of speaking across cultural, ethnic, and generational boundaries.
Redmoon’s Internship program is an apprenticeship in our Build Shop, which creates all of our performance material: masks, puppets, automata, objects, costumes and environments. It entails working with Redmoon artists in design, artistic production, and aesthetic problem solving, as well as shop maintenance responsibilities. The program provides the intern with basic skills in wood, paper, metal, cloth, paint, and proper tool techniques. Interns will develop their artistic skills experimenting in Redmoon’s techniques of spectacle making. Redmoon seeks applicants with enthusiasm, initiative, creative problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively and independently.
Internships run 12-14 week sessions year-round, with a Thursday-Saturday 9-5 schedule.
This is an unpaid internship. Annual sessions:
Fall: September - December
Winter: December-end of February
Spring: Late February-end of May
Summer: June-end of August
