Robert Morris College is partnering with the Genesee Theatre and the City of Waukegan to present the Inside RMC exhibition. Curated by Marissa Rossi, Gallery Curator for the College, the exhibit features recent works by art faculty, graphic design students, and artists in residence. A rare opportunity to test for SAFD (Society of American Fight Directors) Actor-Combatant status without incurring the expense and hassle of an extended trip out of town. In this intensive workshop, studnets get the hours of experience required for testing while learning safe and effective methods that emphasize acting the fight. Subject matter will include unarmed, rapier and dagger, and knife techniques. Students completing the course will have the opportunity to perform a skills proficiency test fight for an SAFD adjudicator. Class meets twice weekly. more...

Orleans Street Gallery presents FOTO-WORK 2008, the second biennial juried exhibition of photographic works by Chicago-based artists, with returning juror, Whitney Bradshaw of the Bank of America Collection. The artwork of the 8 finalists on display November 15, 2008 - January 10, 2009 ranges from traditional landscapes and portraiture to contemporary expression of irony and social commentary and varies from fine art to documentary. In this intensive workshop, studnets get the hours of experience required for testing while learning safe and effective methods that emphasize acting the fight. Subject matter will include unarmed, rapier and dagger, and knife techniques.
