Founded by John Schmitz and Fred Solari in 1995, this five-week annual festival features more than 250 individual acts and over 2,500 artists. Held in November at the Athenaeum Theatre, 2936 N. Southport. Applications, due June 1, are available online.
Pairs HS2's young dancers with choreographers who create original works for HS2. Winners receive a stipend, round-trip transportation to/from Chicago, housing and a per diem for a one-week residency. An annual fall concert series presenting 16 of Chicago's finest modern dance artists and companies. Curated by invitation-only.
