DCASE Research on Arts and Creative Industry
Creative Chicago Survey launches February 4, 2011
The Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE), and its affiliated 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization, the Chicago Cultural Center Foundation (CCCF), whose mission is to support the programs and priorities of the DCA at the Chicago Cultural Center, serve the public through research into the needs of Chicago’s individual artists, creative businesses and arts organizations.
DCASE provides essential direct and technical assistance to artists and creative entrepreneurs through a range of programs that serve specific needs of different creative sectors. These include financial support through Cultural Grants (Neighborhood Assistance Program, Chicago Arts Assistance Program, etc.) professional development services through programs like Chicago Artists Resource (CAЯ) and the Creative Chicago Expo; and via targeted promotional and industry support such as Chicago Artists Month, Fashion Resource, and Publishers Gallery initiatives. DCASE also assists other City agencies in policy development to support creative industries and cultural development across, and provides direct assistance and technical support to artists, developers, arts service and community organizations for their own cultural projects.
Research that has been conducted by DCASE since 2000 is available here for public use. This includes:
- 2000 Chicago Artists Space and Technical Assistance Study
