Founded in 1907, the MacDowell Colony is the oldest artists’ colony in the U.S. Its mission is to nurture the arts by offering creative individuals of the highest talent an inspiring environment in which to produce enduring works of the imagination. MacDowell hosts artist residencies in the winter, summer, and fall of
every year for writers, composers, visual artists, photographers,
printmakers, filmmakers, architects, interdisciplinary artists, and arts
collaborators. It's located in Peterborough, New Hampshire.
