TRY
SQUARE DANCING!!
Perhaps you have unpleasant memories of nerdy junior high exposure to square dancing or grandparents who wore funny outfits. Trust us, this is NOT gay square dancing as we practice it! Come see how we do it, with lots of twirling, swirling and fun. Note: you do not have to bring a partner - most of our members are single and you are guaranteed someone with whom to dance.
John Oldfield and Sandie Bryant will co-teach our Mainstream/Plus class on Tuesday nights starting September 9, 2008 with a free, open class.
Michael Maltenfort will teach a new Advanced class on Thursday nights starting September 11, 2008. This is the first Advanced class Chi-Town has offered in several years, so now is your chance to move on up or improve your upper level skills.
Sandie Bryant will continue the popular Monday night A2/C1 workshops, starting September 15, 2008, alternating advanced and challenge level tips and working on problematic calls and concepts.
Here's the deal. You may join Chi-Town Squares ($40 membership) and continue classes ($7 per session) through May, 2009. If you prefer not to join, you may still attend classes ($8 per session). In no time, you will be square dancing and attending over 15 special dances we have scheduled for the next year. Plus you can dance with other dancers throughout the United States, Canada, and the world!
Organized in 1987, Chi-Town Squares has over 160 members and is open to everyone: gay, lesbian, transgendered, bisexual, straight, whatever. We are not exclusively gay/lesbian and especially welcome our straight friends, family, and neighbors.
