Love Songs For The _____ _____ Hearted is a fun, funky, and bottomless exploration of love, sex, and relationships. This concert is an evening-length work for two men and seven women that explores the complexities of love, sex, and modern urban romantic relationships. Intensely human in theme and medium, the work challenges both dancers and audience to examine their own hearts with extreme honesty. Artistic Director Emily Miller blends the broth of her ballet aesthetic with two cups of varied modern techniques and a dollop of contact improvisation to create this performance for the newly founded GET DOWN/ PICK UP company. The evening is described as "sorbet dance" which is not to say light in subject, but instead fresh and palate cleansing.
