FAQ- I have started a new gallery, how can I work with CAR?

Q:

Hello,

I own and operate (new space name here) a
small art gallery in (neighborhood). Each month we show a different artist, and hold an opening event for the exhibitions at the beginning of the month. We are always looking for new artists, and I hear that CAR is a good resource for that. I am also trying to find a website where my gallery can be listed as such for people looking to buy art, etc.

Please let me know how I can go about partnering with CAR, any
information you can offer would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

You can announce your openings on our events calendar by creating an account, logging in, and clicking on 'post a call' in the community content block on the left.

You can also solicit proposals for upcoming shows via our calls for artists section. You can also post there after you log in.

If you are not listed with another gallery listing (e.g. Chicago Gallery News) we will consider including you individually on CAR in our Project Space or Non-Profits sections in Space. We also list the other local gallery directories and try to avoid duplicating their fine efforts.

Also, have a look in our business section (in the sub-section business) for resources for small arts organizations, and the workshops section in Events for ongoing business workshops. (You can also learn about them by signing up for our eNewsletter).

Best of luck!

Sara
