Girlie-Q Productions presents "Almost Paradise, A Very Queer Prom" at The Spot, 4437 N. Broadway in Chicago.  $5 from each ticket sold will benefit beyondmedia education.

Almost Paradise will feature live music by Congress of Starlings (featuring Andrea Bunch & Aerin Tedesco) and Bric-A-Brac; burlesque performances by some of Chicago's hottest queer burlesque talent; polaroid photo ops; the crowning of a prom "king" and "queen"; a mailbox game for singles; and more pride n' prom activities than you can shake a stick at!  Prom attire is requested.

The burlesque show will be hosted by Backdoor Aly, the producer of Varietease Cabaret.  Performers include Cherish the Burlesque Goddess, Deirdre Doll, Dominique Trixx, The Honeybuns, Lola Getz, Jack & Jinx, Mina Mechante, Natasha Minsk, Red Hot Annie, and Von Livid.

The evening is presented by Girlie-Q Productions, the production company of Ms. Bea Haven aka Jeanne Theresa Newman, a Chicago-based burlesque and performance artist. Ms. Bea has performed her comedic dance performance with nearly every burlesque outfit in town, including Michelle L'Amour's Star and Garter, Red Hot Dames, Varietease Cabaret, and the Sissy Butch Brothers' Gurlesque Burlesque.
