Overview: There are hundreds of books, papers, and lectures that discuss how to manage a non-profit organization, but none provide you with the secrets on how to do it successfully during challenging economic times. This interactive presentation will provide participants with a series of practical lessons to help non-profit Directors and Staff work collaboratively, increase their fundraising capacity, and grow their programs to effectively and efficiently meet their mission.
Presenter:
Joel Massel is the Founder of Creative Management Services, a one-of-a kind Chicago-based management consulting firm, providing a full range of services to trade associations, professional societies, charities and other not-for-profit organizations on a permanent or contractual basis. His client focus is on youth, leadership development, education, and a broad range of health-related issues.
Currently, Joel serves as Executive Director of the Foundation for Hearing and Speech Rehabilitation (1998 to present) and the Chicago Asthma Consortium (2003 to present). A former trial attorney and political activist, Joel brings a for-profit mind set to the non-profit community. As an attorney he prepared and tried major medical malpractice, product liability, structural work act, automobile, and general negligence cases. As an activist, Joel served as National Executive Director for Democratic Leadership for the 21st Century, the nation's then largest and fastest growing, grassroots organization dedicated to developing Democratic candidates, activists and donors.
