Job Posting: Executive Director Chicago Dance and Music Alliance The Executive Director is a full time position responsible for all Alliance programs and services and for staff management, and reports directly to the Board of Directors. The position is full-time, and requires approximately 30-35 hours of work each week.

Responsibilities•
Provide leadership to organization, including key roles in program and project development and implementation, and serving as spokesman for Alliance in appropriate forums. • Maintain relations with Alliance members, including correspondence and direct service provision. • Oversee Alliance website, including planning for upgrades, new features, and day-to-day content maintenance. • Act as liaison to interagency groups, and serve on advocacy or program-related committees of sister organizations or City agencies. • Write weekly electronic newsletter • Write in the Alliance’s blog • Organize annual meetings of members and constituent groups. • Plan special member programs with Board, including Brown Bag lunch series, small concerts, etc. • Financial management, including all ongoing accounting functions and reporting to Board. Invoicing members. Working with auditor to provide all necessary information for audits and required tax filings. • Provide support and materials for Board and committee meetings. • Write, submit and oversee grant requests to corporations, foundations and government agencies. • Retain and work with independent contractors when appropriate, such as web designers and special consultants. • Other duties as required.

Qualifications and Application Requirements

Skills & Qualifications: 

Qualifications• Interest in Chicago performing arts. • Experience with basic computer applications, such as MS Office, Quickbooks. Mac user a plus. • Experienced in website content/updates. • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university. Emphasis in performing arts a plus. Salary commensurate with experience.
