--Plays must be no more than 10 minutes in length.
--We are searching for an open interpretation. Performances can range from standup comedy to interpretive dance. The only real guideline is that they have to be less than 10 minutes and be written by a GLBT person.
--Plays must be submitted via e-mail to Matt Johnston stiles1302@sbcglobal.net, no later than April 23rd.
--If your play is selected than we can discuss whether or not you would like to be in it, if you need to find a director/cast or if you have one already in mind. There is no restriction on the sexual orientation of cast members and directors.
"Solo Homo" is a selection of 10-20 minute solo performances by GLBT people.
Dates:
July 22, rehearse
23, 24, 30 @ 7:30 to 9:30
Chemically Imbalanced Theater
1420 W Irving Park Road
--Performances must be solo in nature, generally but not limited to relating the writers life experiences to the audience.
--Performances can be 10-20 minutes in length.
--The only guideline here is that plays be written by a GLBT author and be a solo performance, plays can be written for someone else to perform or for yourself to perform. Again, performances can range from interpretive dance, to play a song you wrote for yourself on your guitar, to a solo performance that tells a story of your life experiences. Your solo performance can include multiple characters that the actor will portray.
--Scripts or proposals must be submitted via e-mail to Matt Johnston stiles1302@sbcglobal.net, no later than June 15th.
--If your play is selected we will discuss whether or not you want to perform in it, if you need to find a director, and where/when the tech rehearsal will be to put all of the performances together.
