C.I.C.E.R. is a residency program which encourages creative exchanges between international persons of cultural interest and Cape Verdean Creatives.

Each year we invite five individuals whose backgrounds demonstrate histories of cultural productivity to join us in the Island of Santiago, Cape Verde, for a five week collective project. The Collective’s chosen methods of exposition are then shared with the different communities of the Islands.

Along side the Collective’s expeditions residents are provided with the space and time to also develop and explore their own reasons for wanting to experience the islands and the cultures of Cape Verde

State Street Dance in Geneva, IL is looking for male dancers for their annual performance in June. One performance will be Swan Lake in which we are looking for a strong solid male ballet dancer as the lead.

The other show is a dance adaptation of the Lion King in which we are looking for a strong contemporary male dancer for the lead character.

The performances are both on June 10 with rehearsals leading up to it. Most will be done on Sunday's with some Saturday's the weeks before. Both rehearsals and performance will be compensated for.

An accompanist will be provided; please bring sheet music (you may also bring your own accompanist, if preferred). CD/ipod will also be available if you prefer. ANTI is an international contemporary arts festival presenting site-specific works made for public space. Over the past 10 years ANTI has presented live, sonic, visual and text-based art from today’s most exciting and innovative artists. A truly international festival and Finland’s foremost presenter of Live Art, ANTI is a meeting place for artists and audiences fascinated by how art shapes the spaces of everyday life.

We are looking for innovative and exciting live art works for children. ANTI has a long history of presenting ground breaking projects for children and this year our annual call out is focused on finding something truly inspiring. We especially invite proposals from contemporary performance makers who have not made. work for children before but would like to produce something for a young audience. In previous years companies and artists like Gwendoline Robin, Lone Twin and Mammalian Diving Reflex have presented outstanding work for children at ANTI. That’s the tradition we want to continue: great work made by great contemporary artists for children.

Your project can take any form – it may be participatory and children do something with you, or it might be something a young audience encounters by surprise, or anything in between. Your project may last 30 minutes or seven days. It may be for an audience of one, or hundreds and projects should be targeted at specific age groups – from new-borns to teenagers.

ANTI is a site-specific festival – we do not show work in traditional art spaces, neither do we show touring street theatre: all our projects have a direct relationship with the spaces and places they are shown in. When proposing a project please make it very clear where your project would ideally be located, and why.

Program Grant funds provide artistic and operational support to established organizations that make a significant local, regional, or statewide impact on the quality of life in Illinois. This grant is available to registered Illinois not-for-profits with arts programming of high quality that is accessible to all participants, and is appropriate to and reflective of the communities they serve. Fiscal Year 2013 Program Grant supports activities occurring between September 1, 2012 and August 31, 2013.

IMPORTANT DETAILS:

1) Deadline: The FY13 deadline for the above programs is March 15, 2012, 5:00 PM CST for online submission of eGrant application and hand-delivery of required hard copy material.

2) Cultural Data Project: All applicants to the FY13 Program Grant, Grants to Arts Service Organizations, and Partners-in-Excellence Programs are required to submit an IAC Funder Report from the Illinois Cultural Data Project (CDP). Applicants must submit three consecutive years of data, one of which is the organization's fiscal year 2010. All data must have "Review Complete" status.

Recently established organizations with fewer than three years of financial data must submit at least one year of data with "Review Complete" status. The CDP offers webinars to assist organizations, visit the Illinois Cultural Data Project website for dates and to register.

WHAT IS CFANN?

The Chicago Fringe Artist Networking Night (CFANN) hosted by Red Tape Theatre is a one night event that brings together artists and arts enthusiasts for an evening of performances, installations, and tasty treats from neighborhood eateries. Red Tape is known for its transformative space, and CFANN is no exception. Guests will find themselves in a cool, lounge style venue surrounded by provocative intersections of visual, interactive and performance art. Past events have featured visual artist Judith Joseph, buffoon troupe Les Enfants Terribles, and DJ Miles Polaski, with treats from Argo Tea, Zad Restaurant, and Pastoral.

CFANN 2012 will be all this and more. This years’ performance showcase is driven by dance and movement, immersed in fun, diverse and arresting visual, video and audio art, guaranteed to create an exhilarating and inspiring experience.

The Lycée Français de Chicago, an independent co-educational day school, invites artists to submit proposals for our 2012-2013 Artist-in-Residence program.

Who are we?

The Lycée Français de Chicago has been providing a world class education to American and international students since 1995. Beginning in pre-school and continuing through 12th grade, our students thrive in a unique multicultural, dual-language learning environment.

Our school puts a great emphasis on the arts as a cultural expression and as a means of international dialogue. We believe that the arts influence the development of how people communicate their perceptions, responses, and understanding of the world to themselves and to others. We focus on providing each student with the cultural and artistic education necessary for this development.

Since 1997 the Lycee’s Artist-in-Residence program has collaborated with such international artists and institutions as Christian Boltanski, Ery Camara, Sheila Hicks, Laurent Baude, Beate Gütschow, Périphériques Architectes, and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago. While each project has explored new linkages between art and learning, it is the integration of the artists’ ideas into the philosophy and overall curriculum, as well as into the day-to-day activities of the school, that are most significant.

Over the next three years, as the Lycée prepares to move to a new school location in 2015, we are seeking three artists, one per year, to create projects with our students that will help us reaffirm our identity as a global community. The theme for the Artist-in-Residence program during these three years will be: “The Lycée as a Community of Productive Contradictions.”

We are looking forward to receiving project ideas that extend our relationship with the community beyond the school walls, and into the truly international world of which we are a part.

What are we looking for?

We are currently seeking proposals for the 2012-13 school year. This call for proposals is open to artists of all disciplines, including but not limited to, visual artists, playwrights, musicians, poets, dancers, filmmakers and new media artists.

We expect the selected artist to work closely with students and teachers from different levels of our school, ranging from Pre-Kindergarten to 12

th grade. The artist will be expected to donate two final products to the Lycée at the conclusion of the residency:

1. An artistic production created with the students

2. Tangible documentation of the project

The contents and making of this final product are open to the imagination, as long as the artist actively engages the students, and the entire Lycée community, in the process of its creation.

Practical conditions of the program

The artist will be given a six week residency that could be spread throughout the school year or intensive, to create, install, perform, and/or display the work.

The artist will be given a generous stipend with travel and accommodation expenses covered. The residency will also include funds for materials to create the final product as well as an opening exhibition and several promotional materials to publicize the project.

The artist will formally meet with students, parents, and teachers to initially present the project, and will then work in close contact with teachers and students to bring the project to life. The artist will take part in two public events, one of which will take place outside of school.

Dance Films Kino 2012 is looking for submissions for its “Dance Film Slam” program, coordinated by Liana C. Percoco, on Wednesday, March 7 and Monday, March 12 at the Hyde Park Art Center in Chicago, Illinois.

The “Dance Film Slam” is a program for emerging filmmakers that use movement as their subject, to show new work in a supportive setting and receive feedback from the audience and peers.

Submissions will be reviewed on a first-come basis and taken until the two program dates are filled. Films should be original works no longer than 10 minutes, and works-in-progress are acceptable. If accepted, filmmakers are responsible for their own travel to Chicago to be present for feedback.

ABOUT DANCE FILMS KINO:

Chicago-based artist and film curator Sarah Best opens the studio doors as an artist in residence at Hyde Park Art Center to create a salon-style environment evoking the kinos or private avant garde art clubs of the 1920s in Soviet Russia. Her residency project titled “Dance Films Kino” takes the form of a three-week free festival celebrating innovative collaborations between movement artists and filmmakers. Live performance compliments the screenings. Best strives to make these works accessible to audiences, through music, food and drink, and the contributions of diverse artistic collaborators. The film program relates to the themes Revolutions and Revelations, Women and Men, and Utopias and Dystopias and the environment provides a platform to expand discussions around innovative films to include radical and taboo artistic and social practices. Through this festival, Best activates the studio space, cultivating an experience of movie-watching and art-viewing that emphasizes community and celebration.

The festival is co-presented by Links Hall and Hyde Park Art Center with all screenings, events, and performances happening at Hyde Park Art Center. Dance Films Kino is a Touring Partner of the Dance Films Association. Dance Films Association’s annual Dance On Camera Festival is co-sponsored by the Film Society of Lincoln Center and supported by the National Endowment for the Arts.

Organization Description:

Dance Films Kino, devised by curator Sarah Best, is a new series of events that uses music, food and drink, and artistic environments to create a rich cinema viewing experience. It’s already underway: DFK’s presentation of Man with a Movie Camera (Vertov, 1929) with a live score by Dan Schaaf was held in March, and in February, DFK hosted a screening of films by Lucy Cash and discussion with Goat Island Performance Group alumni.

The “main event” will be a three-week festival of dance cinema in March 2012. The festival’s goal is to bring dance film to general audiences by creating a tactile environment in which to watch them, a 1920s-style lounge, built within the Hyde Park Art Center.

The festival is co-presented by Links Hall and Hyde Park Arts Center.

Gorilla Tango Theatre is looking to produce plays performed by kids for kids this Spring. To achieve this we need Directors with the desire and ability to foster the creativity of a child through the art of theatrical play-acting . If hired you will be given a $100 budget and make 10% of the gross revenue.
