Western Montana’s place-based Arts and Ecology Artist in Residence (Pilot) program, Open AIR, connects artists with unique sites to promote cross-sector dialogue and collaboration.
With innovative opportunities available in places such as remote wilderness areas to historically significant sites closer to town, artists will have the opportunity to draw inspiration from a regional community dedicated to preserving place, environment, and the arts.
Summer (6-week) and Fall (3-week) opportunities to artists living outside of Montana. The residency is FREE and includes studio and lodging. Artists are responsible for their food and travel to and from. With successful fundraising, artists will receive a stipend during their stay.
