Creative Community Connections at Chicago Methodist Senior Services
Creative Community Connections (CCC) is a program designed by Chicago Methodist Senior Services (CMSS) Arts Programming Coordinator Jenn Ross, MAAT, and CMSS resident Adrien Pikovsky. CCC is designed to help older adults within the CMSS community engage with creative people in the greater Chicagoland area, across the country, and around the world. The mission of this program is to reduce isolation and improve quality of life for residents by assisting them in developing new, creative relationships by providing an outlet to share their story, their voice, and their talents. This program is based on the concept of Mail Art and incorporates letter writing, creative engagement, and relationship development.
How you can take part:
Because the focus of this project is individualized attention, we are reliant on community interest to engage as many residents as possible. Taking part in this program can be as small or large of a commitment as you would like it to be and can be equally rewarding. We ask that volunteers provide a personal, creative expression (art, poetry, etc.) and a short letter to the resident. In turn, you will likely be receiving a similar response from one of our resident community members! Due to the relational nature of this program, each volunteer will be specifically matched with a resident in order to provide a compatible, engaging partnership.
If you would like to volunteer for this program, please contact Jenn Ross at (773) 769-2255 or email@example.com for more information and to be paired with a resident that matches your interests and personality!
