Bring Your Own Theatre is a community of professionals and theater enthusiasts who come together nearly every month to put on 24 hour theater festivals. Our upcoming dates are September 29th and November 17th. This is a wonderful opportunity for long time theater professionals to hone their skills and for people who have less experience to practice and learn in a welcoming, non judgemental environment.
We will also be continuing our successful mentorship program. Ever want to direct, act, write, or participate in any part of BYOT, but haven't been sure you wanted to dive in on your own? We'll pair you with a member or participant more experienced in that role to help you through the weekend. This program is open to current members or participants who just want to try a different role from their usual choices as well!
If you would like to be involved with BYOT, email firstname.lastname@example.org please include your name, phone number, and any roles in which you are interested listed in the order you'd prefer to do them. Also, please include whether you might like to be a mentor or mentee for the program mentioned above.
Some typical open roles may include:
Actor, Writer, Director, Composer*, Musical Director*, Accompanist*, Production Manager,
Tech, Co-Emcee, Videographer, Special Act (ie. Musical Act/Songwriter, Spoken Word/Poetry,
Improv/Sketch, Stand-Up, Dance, Digital Short*, anything interesting or fun not listed here...)
*these roles only exist if we have a musical scene/digital short, so if you're interested in acting in/directing/writing a musical/doing a digital short - let us know!!
If there is something you think would be cool to have/do at BYOT, but don't see it on the list above, EMAIL US WITH YOUR IDEA! This show grows and becomes more awesome every month, but it can only do so if you all continue to be awesome and have ideas.
