The Contemporary Gallery Program at The Art House
An Innovative program designed to launch/boost artist careers through:
- gallery representation,
- relevant, tailored support,
- curated exhibition in the Chicago gallery with publication and 100% sale going to the artist,
- and online representation through the highly respected Artsy.net, a site presenting a curated selection of the best emerging and historical artists to active art collectors worldwide.
SUMMARY OF PROGRAM:
The Art House Gallery offers representation through the Contemporary Program on an application-only basis. Applications are reviewed by Rebecca George, Director of The Art House, and select artists in residence with this professional studio. Both emerging and established artists worldwide are invited to apply. Fine artists working in any medium and at any scale are eligible. Applications are competitive; applicants will be identified for a one year award of local and international representation by the gallery.
Accepted artists engage in a yearlong interactive program, renewable through a formal re-application every 12 months. Representation includes unlimited works on the top collectors site Artsy.net, equal participation and collaborative curation of a 6-room gallery Chicago exhibition in the summer of 2018 and features on a number of websites/social media outlets. Artists retain 100% of their sales while represented by The Art House. A 3-hr monthly individual lesson with Director Rebecca George (in person at The Art House or online via video conference) enables the gallery to support each artist's growth and develop the necessary working knowledge to accurately represent you to collectors worldwide. Rebecca George teaches studio and professional development courses at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and University of Chicago. Rebecca founded The Art House Studio and Gallery in 2012 where she works exclusively with serious artists at every stage of development. The program meets its actual costs through a monthly program fee paid by accepted applicants. The $450 monthly fee represents the actual cost for a 3-hr lesson and contribution to the online subscription costs actively utilized in representation.
The Art House does not take a commission of artist sales. Not only do artists retain their commission, they build a quality contact list of collectors and others introduced to their work through the program. Artist sales have occurred with every exhibition and are on the rise through the online venues. The exposure, publication, curatorial and marketing skills artists receive as a result of participation in the program will substantially enhance their capacity to effectively promote their work on a self- sufficient basis.
